Welcome to Amanda’s Bequest Bed & Breakfast

Coffee or wine on the rear gazebo porch (a popular place all day long, especially in the early mornings and right before dusk when the deer and wild turkeys wander through) enjoying the happy hens fluff and chirp and all the great nature sounds. Relax on the Pond patio to the water sounds of our goldfish pond. Stroll the “art-walk” in the woods while taking in the forest surroundings or meander through the gardens.  Get some shade on a restful bench under the grape arbor and watch the happy honey bees come and go; or, some get sun on the sunny garden patio bench out front.  Play horse shoes or borrow Inn bikes (or bring yours) to bike the local trails.  Weather-permitting, enjoy a bon-fire on weekend evenings spring through fall, complete with s’mores of course.  What’s this?  Valerie has fired up the outdoor wood oven and is planning to make pizza to share! Snag a seat on the bench in the stone herb garden patio nearby and enjoy the artisan performance; then taste the deliciousness.  Watch or assist Chef Valerie make any variety of interesting foods and non-foods as she makes an enormous amount of hand made items throughout the year, from soaps and candles to applesauce, cheese, and pickled asparagus.  In the winter curl up with a book from the library in front of the fire in the parlor; learn a new skill and take a cooking class; or borrow cross-country skis from the Inn (or snowshoes) to ski the trail that is kept up.  October through May, participate in one of the FUN Murder Mysteries at Amanda’s Bequest (see specials and packages page for dates)  There’s so much to do on-site, it is nearly a resort!
